JL Bar Ranch, Resort & Spa mixes all the things we love to do when traveling. They have the luxury feel of a resort with a spa with unique Texas ranch experiences like horseback riding, shooting lessons, and ATV adventures. Located on 13,000 acres in the heart of the hill country, the ranch is an ideal destination in Texas located about 3 hours west of Austin for unplugging and enjoying the beauty of West Texas and the rolling hills of Texas Hill Country.
The ranch features 16 luxury cabins and 16 guest rooms with custom made furniture, woven textiles, and lavish linens that create a rustic feel without sacrificing luxury. The cabins and guest rooms are very similar in amenities size and price.
When considering JL Bar Ranch all rates include meals and beverages, on-property transportation, Wi-Fi, and mountain bikes. Other activities are available at an additional price.
A newer option is the Archer’s Nest Villa, an ultra-private retreat within the Ranch with 6 bedrooms & 6 bathrooms, swimming pool with kitchen, bar & BBQ pavilion, home theater, office & media room, indoor/outdoor dining rooms and more.
Food & Beverage
The Restaurant at JL Bar has a full breakfast and lunch menu. Dinner is served each night in a fixed menu themed format like wood fire pizza night on Wednesday or barbeque night on Saturdays. The JL Bar Wine Cellar complements the restaurant with an extensive selection of wines.
Also available at the ranch are cooking classes, wine tastings, cowboy cookouts, and sunset dining. Cowboy cookouts start with sundown drinks and snacks, country music, and ranch activities like horseshoe throwing before enjoying a steak dinner. A sunset dining experience would be our top choice, beginning with a peaceful ride through winding groves and wildflower fields with beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country followed by a Western dinner and marshmallow roasting around a cozy bonfire.
JL Bar Ranch offers plenty of activities for you to enjoy during your stay. For starters, you can enjoy the resort pool or go for a hike. If you are looking to relax the spa has a menu of massages, scrubs, and other treatments.
If you are looking for more adventure, go on thrilling ATV & UTV excursions through the Texas Hill Country. The ranch even has its own sporting complex where guests can choose among skeet/trap, sporting clays, long-range, and even archery.
If you like horses you can go on a horseback ride or try a horse psychology experience that connects participants with their intuition, their sense of trust, and others. The equestrian center is led by Jon Joseph and Sydney Beique who specialize in training reining and polo horses. Guests ride these one-of-a-kind reining horses instead of typical “trail” horses.
